"The image began as a sign that described courage and the inner strength women have, especially for those that are POC/WOC and the queer community like myself."

The story behind my "You are Strong'" image began shortly after the 2016 presidential election was announced and everyone including me was in turmoil. The only way I could start to process everything was when I started drawing up images to help me cope for the Women's March that I attended in Portland. The image began as a sign that described courage and the inner strength women have, especially for those that are POC/WOC and the queer community like myself. I grew up in a very small conservative town where I was only one of five in my private school that was of color, and especially being half asian, people tend to just see me as the quiet girl. This image proves that there is always more that meets the eye and we have much thicker skin than most may think.
